Win tonight. Win it all. How the Brewers built their first World Series champion
Congratulations to the Brewers on a well deserved World Series championship. I do truly admire the Brewers organization, so it’s fantastic to see the good guys get one.

Mike Petriello goes deep on the metrics behind Ohtani’s swing and the issues with it. The issue is timing. The question is whether Ohtani is both physically well enough to be able to fix it — he says he is — and whether or not he actually find his timing before its too late. He’s in the line-up tonight. We’ll see.
It is hilarious to me that the true believers keep falling back on the TDS thing. The only TDS that is happening here is the derangement of those who still think that the President isn’t a criminal conman.
This might be a good device for some people, but for someone who just wants a not shit user interface to their TV, the extra feature bloat and $300 price tag are difficult to stomach. I’ll probably end up biting the bullet because everything else out there is shit. What a drag.
Not going to lie, couple this loss with The Rams face plant and Monday night was a drag.
No one will feel any sympathy for the Dodgers, I recognize that. LA’s odds of winning the series is down to 22.5% according to Fangraphs but it feels a lot lower than that. The next couple games are going to be key, as the Brewers are reaching the end of their starting pitching depth. A big part of the Dodgers advantage in this series was going to be the Brewers lack of depth, but LA has hit so poorly that this has yet to become an issue for Milwaukee.
The Dodgers hopes of a third straight World Series appearance are now squarely on the backs of Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow. Best case is that they can leverage that advantage in the next couple games and even up the series.
Checks out. These games have been close and tense, but somehow at the same time remarkably boring for much of it.
Fantastic video on the batted-ball controversy in Milwaukee, from which I learned something about spin on batted balls. And make sure you stay for the twist ending. At the end of the day, this is a pretty rare and unfortunate event that couldn’t have happened to a nicer fanbase.
My wife and I are currently enjoying the latest season of the US version of The Traitors, “New Blood,” featuring non-celebrity contestants. I have found it much more enjoyable than past seasons where the cast is a lot of reality TV “stars” — and I don’t want to be crass about it, but they are not my favorite type of person.
The Traitors in the UK, known as Celebrity Traitors, had a very good first series and a much better cross-section of celebrity types. That said, I’m excited to see Hannah Fry among the Series 2 celebrities—a literal mathematician. I first became aware of her from her Numberphile appearances, from what seems like ages ago. I don’t know hardly any of the other celebrities aside from Bella Ramsey — but I’m definitely on team Hannah!
Yet another title for LA teams. Let’s add a World Series and a Super Bowl this year, yeah? And I’m very much looking forward to watching women’s pro-ball grow. Great stuff!
